Comic Con 2009

31 05 2008

I’ve decided, somewhat suddenly, that I want to go to Comic Con in 2009. I’m going to attempt to do this as far ahead as possible (limited of course by hotel and plane booking dates).

Anyone else interested? If there was a group of us, we could possibly try and cut down on costs with room sharing. I’d need a fairly early commitment, though.

Help gnad make her next doc…pretty please??!!

30 05 2008

yes sir, that's my lemmingk

I’m not ready to start producing one, but I’m sending out an all-points bulletin to ask gnadj readers to keep in mind any ideas you think would make a good documentary–be it short or long form, serious or goofy, happy or sad, controversial or not! My well of ideas is dry and I’d like to hear what you guys think. Just reply to this post with the idea, and I’ll check this post from time to time and read what you have to say. Or if you wanna do a doc or a fiction film and need another hand, I’d be glad to help. BTW my last idea came from reading boingboing.net! There are tons of stories out there waiting to be told, I’m just too distracted right now to take notice of any ;) ;)

love,
gnad

A poll

30 05 2008

Although, not in actual poll format. Please vote in the comments.

Now that Lost is on hiatus, what show on DVD should I entertain myself with until next January?

1. Watch the rest of season one of Heroes (already own), and then move on to season two.
2. Firefly
3. Battlestar Galactica
4. Rewatch all the Lost DVDs until my head explodes.
5. Other

many thanks,

Pugs

28 05 2008

Now whenever I think of Lost (which–thanks to my coworkers, my spouse, and the overwhelming awesome sauce of Michael Emerson–is like every ten to fifteen seconds), I think of the video that I posted below.

If you haven’t watched it, you really should. And can anyone tell me if this is a normal default feature of pugs? Because I love stumpy dogs–but not if it they are going to do that all the time.

Excitement

27 05 2008

If you pay any attention to my demented ramblings, you’ll probably know that there are three hours of Lost on TV Thursday night. Three hours of brilliant acting and writing in a sci-fi show on network TV? My head will soon explode.

I’ve searched tonight for a video that I think can adequately represent my excitement at this moment in time:

Funk it up!

27 05 2008

This is the packaging for the cell phone we bought when we were in New Zealand. It may have been the jet lag, but I found this sticker hysterical at the time:

Have you reproduced?

For those of you with offspring to torture, please consider these ten horrible baby costumes.

Happy Birthday Sparky!

24 05 2008

You don’t read this blog so there’s no point in posting this besides informing other people why tomorrow is so special, but anyway, here’s reindeer-dog in his Citizen Kane pose showing disapproval of the lazy photoshopping job done to him:

I disapprove this message

And Happy Memorial Day!

Hack your Canon point-and-shoot

24 05 2008

Neither creepy nor intimate, but interesting piece o’ info: I know some gnadj readers have Canon point-and-shoot digicams (alas my 2002 S330 is too old (!) ) and have the skillz :p to hack ‘em. Quote from Photojojo:

Your point & shoot camera has been keeping things from you.

Has it mentioned, for example, that it has a motion sensor for photographing lightning, or that it can shoot in RAW format? We’ll bet it hasn’t even told you that it can shoot at speeds up to 1/25,000th of a second.

And you can get it to play games!! Will someone out there please capture some lightning for me??
